June 2018: Events and Travel

collaboration local love out & about travel

Hi all! Summer is always a super busy time for us. We ramp up our Kootz Rootz market presence, do a lot of travelling with our families, and of course, spend as much time as we possibly can on Kootenay Lake.

Here's a short re-cap of our month so far, and a few upcoming things we're excited to share with you.

Accelerate Kootenays in Your Neck of the Woods
We are super excited about our most recent collaboration with Accelerate Kootenays (@acceleratekoots). Check out our social media, and theirs, to see the custom shirts we designed for them that will be travelling all over the Kootenays this summer, talking #RuralEV! You can meet the Accelerate team at their next stop this weekend at Sam Steele Days in Cranbrook.

Did you see our HUGE GIVEAWAY ALERT?
We've teamed up with the Kootenay Country Music Festival and our friend, the super talented Lisa Nicole, for an amazing prize pack. Enter for your chance to win 2 tickets (weekend passes) to KCMF, 2 signed CD's from Lisa, and some super summer swag from us! Get to our Instagram now (@kootzrootz)... contest ends this Sunday!

We spent a day in Marysville and Kimberley at the start of the month and did a small pop-up shop. Thanks to our friends at Bohemian Spirits, we not only got to check out their space and learn a few things about distilling (and sample, naturally), but we were also treated to the Kimberley Bag Pipe Band playing a private show for us right in the distillery. So cool!

To wrap up our trip, we made an obligatory stop at the Platzl and ate a super filling, super delicious dinner at Pedal & Tap, finished off with Wild Wholeistic chocolate for dessert - made right in Kimberley.

BC Coastal Vibes
Recently, half of the Kootz Rootz crew travelled to the Coast of BC for a hearty dose of sand and salt water in Tofino and Ucluelet. While travelling lightly, there are a couple staples we take on our outdoor vacations. First of, a hat, protecting us from all the elements, and secondly, our branded Camp Cloths are lightweight, eco-friendly, fast drying and ready to clean up any situation on the road! We especially like using them for an easy and gentle makeup wipe remover. Both items are available in the online shop.

What's Next

We have 2 more markets lined up for the Summer with a few more still in the works. You can find us on Sunday July, 15th in Fernie at the Mountain Market and on Friday, August 24th we will be back in Nelson for MarketFest! See our events page for all the details.

Kootz Rootz has a few summer adventures lined up so check our social media to see what we'll be up to. Coming up we'll have East Shore Kootenay Lake highlights, a feature on a Kootenay town we've never visited before, an exciting animal encounter profile, market highlights, and more!

If you have a travel or local adventure photo sporting Kootz Rootz gear or some sweet Kootenay views, tag us for a feature! @kootzrootz #kootzrootz

Did you know you can buy Kootz Rootz locally? Check out our stockists page. Also, Casey's Community House in Creston is now selling the Tailgate Party T's we designed for their staff.

Speaking of support, we just wanted to say thank you to everyone for being part of Kootz Rootz in any positive capacity and allowing us to share our stories with you. xo
