August, Don't Leave Us!

Summer time, and the living is easy but... August is almost over (ahhh!) We've been doing a lot of desk work lately - juggling new Fall apparel designs, work and kids, and some fun new collaboration opportunities. Things get busy and sometimes overwhelming. One of the best cures is a little time with our divine goddess friend, Mother Nature. And there is no better place to take it in than Kootenay Lake! (Yah I know, we're biased, but can you blame us?) Here's some Kootenay and outdoor inspired eye-candy just for you. The highlight of the month was definitely Leah (and husband's) hike up Mount Crawford/Plaid Lake Trail on Kootenay Lake.

On August 10th, we had the pleasure of hosting a pop-up in our fave little valley town, Creston! We spent the day at the funky Fly in the Fibre shop. We were slingin' goods, catching up with locals, friends and family and taking advantage of Fly in the Fibre's amazing coffee creations (care of Oso Negro, Nelson). We love the vibe in this shop, it's loaded with fun fibre arts and supplies. It totally brings us back to our art school days when one of our close friends, and roommate, was a fibre arts major. Thanks so much to Mel and Michelle for having us and thank you to everyone that stopped by! We also managed to squeeze in a trip to the Farmer's Market and a glorious patio lunch at the Skimmerhorn Winery and Bistro. Well, who are we kidding, a winery pit-stop was firmly in our schedules. We took our time sipping vino and watching two beautiful hawks hunt and play above the orchards.

If you're looking for highlights and features from Creston, BC, we would love if you checked out @cvklroute on Instagram and Facebook. We are managing the Creston Valley-Kootenay Lake Route social media account and are having a blast promoting this beautiful area of the Kootenays (and BC and Canada!)

Kelsey also took a trip to Newfoundland this month, for a wedding, and captured some Kootenay swag in the Eastern province. I'm honestly surprised she even had time to take these pics because all I was getting were texts of fish and chips photos...

A vision board is a great visual tool to guide and inspire you as well as keep you focused and on track, because hey, you are a busy human. And what better way to dive in than with a group of ladies who share similar goals?

The class will end with a divine 30 minute relaxation exercise to settle our busy minds and reflect on our goals care of one of the Ashram's esteemed instructors.
