Kootz Collective started for us in 2013, at least, in a business-type sense. However, we were born and raised in the Kootenays so the area is quite literally our roots. In fact, both sides of our families have well documented histories on settling in the area. We were born and raised in Trail, and also spent half our lives in Creston, at our summer home on Kootenay Lake. We were raised to appreciate the outdoors: climbing the mountain right out our front door in Trail, skiing Red in Rossland, fishing and boating on Kootenay Lake, and fruit picking in Creston. East Shore to North Shore Road Trip
This past weekend we played tourist and did a Kootenay Lake, East Shore to North Shore, road trip with an extended stay in Nelson for MarketFest. Keep reading to check out all the stops we made along the way! We left Kuskanook in the afternoon and wove our way down the lake road to Crawford Bay to visit the local artisans. Our first stop was Red's Bakery and a stroll through the charming Kokanee Chalets. The smell of fresh baked goods coming from Red's is a reward in itself.
